This beer was created as a collaboration between My Abuelas Food and Second Self beer to celebrate their joint anniversary. The beer is dedicated to Puerto Rico and it’s a celebration of Boricua’s resilience after the tragedies the island has gone through recently. I was commissioned to create the art for this beer, and as a Boricua immigrant I felt honored that I was chosen to represent my people. The beer is a Imperial Porter, made with chocolate Cortez and Julian Coffee (exported directly from PR). There is something magical about our country, our people, the resilience, and power that runs through our blood. This beer is meant to honor Boricuas fighting spirit and our persistence to keep the identity of our island alive.
